The calls for the month were:

Last month Chief Saulpaugh reported that an OSHA Inspector had been to both firehouses to inspect. They have received a very good report with only a few minor corrections to be made, such as material data safety sheets and a no smoking sign on fuel tank at Station #2. These have been corrected.

It has been determined that the furnace at Station #2 will have to be replaced. The cost for the furnace is $1400 with the installation being done mostly by volunteers. The money was not budgeted so it was discussed on how to pay for the new furnace.

Firefighters attended OSHA training at Germantown Firehouse this past week with 13 firemen attending for the 8-hour course. The next training will be held at Livingston this Sunday.

Asst. Chief Schiller looked into the accelerator program for the Internet but it does not help with running programs, basically for internet browsing, etc.

Commissioner Lent reported that the next FEMA fire grant period is March 7 – April 8 th. She will discuss with the Chief about what to request for this year’s grant.

Commissioner Harned presented the list of firefighters who qualify for points in 2004 under the LOSAP program, based on attendance at calls, meetings, drills and positions held in the organization. The plan is structured so that in order to get points, you must make 33% of the calls. It is to be posted for thirty days, signed by the Supervisor and sent to Penflex who administers the plan. There are twenty eligible members. The fire secretary and President are arbitrators in disputes over points. Two firemen are retiring this year, Amandus Fuchs and John Myers, but they can still maintain active membership.
