FIRE COMMISSIONERS MEETING

January 3, 2005

The Clermont Fire Commissioners held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 6:30 P.M. Supervisor William Banks opened the meeting. Present were Commissioner Staats, Commissioner Lent, Commissioner Harned and Commissioner Tousey. Also present were Chief Laurence Saulpaugh, First Assistant Chief James Potts, Jr and Second Assistant Chief Mark Schiller.

A motion was made to waive the reading of the minutes, as copies were provided and to approve them by Commissioner Staats, seconded by Commissioner Lent. All in favor. So carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Staats, seconded by Commissioner Lent to accept the reappointment of Laurence Saulpaugh as Fire Chief, James C. Potts, Jr. as First Assistant Chief and Mark Schiller as Second Assistant Chief for 2005. All in favor. So carried.

Chief Saulpaugh gave a report on Decembers activities as follows: (Copy attached)

• Smoke Investigation in home – unfounded
• Smoke in residence – caused by pellet stove – smoke vented from home.
• AAPI – Route 9 on December 9 th.
• Mutual aid to Livingston for structure fire on Route 9.
• Report of vehicle fire on Route 9 – unfounded
• AAPI – Route 9G – December 22 nd - assisted Southern Columbia
• AAPI – Route 9G – December 22 nd

The drill for the month was equipment check at Station #2. There were a total of 58 calls for 2004. All trucks have been serviced, all equipment ordered and paid for the year.

The Fire Company is meeting with an architect to review plans for building for trucks at Route 9G station. The Town should prepare a budget on the building. Supervisor Banks will check on the fund balance for new truck.

Supervisor Banks thanked the fire chiefs for their service to the community and mutual aid to other Towns.

A motion was made by Commissioner Lent, seconded by Commissioner Staats to approve fire abstract #1, voucher #1 in the amount of $2,150. All in favor. So carried.

A motion was made to adjourn by Commissioner Staats, seconded by Commissioner Harned at 6:55 P.M. All in favor. So carried.
