FIRE COMMISSIONERS MEETING

February 7, 2005

The Clermont Fire Commissioners held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 7, 2005 at 6:30 P.M. Supervisor William Banks opened the meeting. Present were Commissioner Staats, Commissioner Lent, Commissioner Harned and Commissioner Tousey. Also present were Chief Laurence Saulpaugh and Second Assistant Chief Mark Schiller.

A motion was made to waive the reading of the minutes, as copies were provided and to approve them by Commissioner Staats, seconded by Commissioner Harned. All in favor. So carried.

Chief Saulpaugh gave the Chiefs Report for January 2005: (copy attached)

• There were nine calls for the month:
• AAPD – 1/5/05 – Pickup truck off the road on Moore Rd.
• Structure fire – 1/6/05 – Grundwoltd Lane
• Report of brush fire, controlled burn found – 1/10/05 – Woods Road
• Smoke investigation – 1/14/05 – Pleasantvale Road
• Water in basement – 1/17/05 – Route 9G
• AAPI – 1/24/05 – East Camp Road and Route 9G
• Alarm activation – 1/26/05 – Pleasantvale Road
• Chimney Fire – 1/29/05 – Woods Road
• Water in basement – 1/30/05 – Route 9G
• The drill for the month was held on mandatory Blood borne pathogen training.

The Chief reported that OSHA would be inspecting the firehouses this month.

The department members have had their physicals. All trucks, tanks and scotpaks have been checked. Two new members were welcomed, one junior member and one senior member.

Assistant Chief Schiller will be looking into an accelerator program for speeding up updates for their reporting system and grant information. Also, looking into the software they are presently using and whether it is worth paying the yearly maintenance fees.

There was an electrical problem at Station #1 and an electrician was called to replace a breaker that went bad.

Commissioner Lent has requested the Fire Department’s assistance at the Easter Egg Hunt to be held on March 26 th from 12-2 PM on the Town Hall grounds.

A motion was made by Commissioner Harned, seconded by Commissioner Lent to approve Fire abstract #2, pages 1 & 2, vouchers 2-22 in the amount of $13,331.35. All in favor. So carried.

A motion was made to adjourn by Commissioner Staats, seconded by Commissioner Harned. All in favor. So carried.
