TOWN BOARD

BUDGET WORKSHOP

SEPTEMBER 28, 2009

The Clermont Town Board held a budget workshop on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 6:30 P.M. at the Town Hall. Those in attendance were Supervisor Raymond Staats, Councilwoman Dianne O’Neal, Councilman Richard Jones, Councilwoman Carol Lent and Councilman Chris Nolan. Also present were Judith Neary and Robert Desmond.

There was discussion on salary increases, which were requested by the courts for the clerks, sole assessor and highway department employees. The Town Council members will reduce their salaries from $2300.00 annually to $2000.00. The Sole Assessor will receive a salary increase of $360.00 annually because of increased workload on data collection. The Court Clerks will not receive an increase nor will the Highway Superintendent or Highway personnel.

All other departments were reviewed and increased or decreased as required.

Overall the appropriations for the General Fund were reduced from $343,200.00 to $338,395.00. Estimated revenues in the General Fund were decreased from $258,150.00 to $253,200.00. Highway appropriations were reduced from $275,323.00 to $266,540.00 and estimated revenues increased from $135,000.00 to $157,000.00. The amount to be raised by taxes is $109,735.00 from $105,373.00 in 2009.

The tentative budget will be presented at the October 5, 2009 regular board meeting.

Respectfully submitted,
