TOWN OF CLERMONT
BUILDING COMMITTEE WORKSHOP
JULY 27, 2010
The Building Committee held a workshop on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. to discuss paint colors for the Town Hall and Garage. Those present were Chairwoman Dianne O’Neal and Supervisor Raymond Staats. Others present were Councilman Robert Desmond, Councilwoman Nancy Moore, Barbara Moore, Elizabeth Bierbaum, Judith Neary, Elizabeth Mahar and Bea Banks.
Louise Kalin, Town Historian, provided history boards explaining what the style of the building would have looked like if painted in the colors of the period.
The idea for the colors of the Town Hall is to remain white, possibly off white, with green trim for the windows and trim. The proposal for the gable end is to use a dark red to accentuate the scalloped shingles. The paint used will not be bright or shiny.
The sentiment of those residents present was to leave the Town Hall in the colors that it has been, white with green trim and not paint the gable end in dark red.
The garage will be painted in a chrome green with white trim. The green will coordinate with the color of the new addition to the garage.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Helen Shannon, RMC
Town Clerk
