CLERMONT TOWN BOARD
DECEMBER 28, 2011
YEAR END
The Clermont Town Board held their year-end meeting on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at the Town Hall. Those in attendance were Supervisor Raymond Staats, Councilman Robert Desmond, Councilman Richard Jones and Councilwoman Nancy Moore. Councilwoman Dianne O’Neal was absent. There were three residents present.
The minutes of the December 5th meeting were approved on a motion made by Councilman Desmond, seconded by Councilwoman Moore. All in favor. So carried.
Supervisor Staats went over the draft financial reports for 2011. Prior to paying the year-end invoices there is $82,359.00 in the unexpended General fund balance. The board was very conservative this year in spending and there is a zero percent increase on taxes.
Councilman Jones said that this board has done a good job at keeping taxes down. Councilman Desmond remarked that if the sales tax revenue continues to go up, we will be in good shape, but with the current economy, it makes sense to keep a significant amount in the General Fund for unexpected expenses. Supervisor Staats said that in the highway fund, there is $10,813 in revenues not collected but the sales tax for the last quarter has not yet come in, so we should have a surplus.
