CLERMONT FIRE DISTRICT
JULY 15, 2013
The Clermont Fire Commissioners held their regular meeting on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall. Those present were Chairman Mark Schiller, Commissioner Laurence Saulpaugh, Commissioner Raymond Bauer and Commissioner Harned. Also present were Chief Ronald Rifenburgh, Treasurer Denise Fiore and Robert Desmond.
MINUTES: A motion was made to approve the minutes by Commissioner Saulpaugh, seconded by Commissioner Bauer. All in favor. So carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT FOR JULY:

A motion was made to approve the Treasurer’s report by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Saulpaugh. All in favor. So carried.

- Commissioner Bauer will get something to put in Station #1 for spiders.

OLD BUSINESS:
- LOSAP AUDIT: Treasurer Fiore contacted Shallo, Galluscio, Bianchi and Fucito to perform the LOSAP audit. They provided a list of reports needed. She then contacted Penflex for the information and found that they could do the entire audit for $495.00. It must then be seen by a CPA firm, but would not cost as much as having the CPA Firm do the entire audit. The Commissioners would like Penflex to do the audit and refer to Shallo, Galluschio, etc.
- The individuals who were allegedly stealing diesel from Station #2 were apprehended in the act on June 28th by New York State Trooper Oles. A thank you note will be sent to the Livingston Barracks.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Chairman would like a thank you note written to C. J. Larsen for serving on the Board of Commissioners filling the position of his late father, Charles Larsen. C.J. resigned last month because he moved from the area.
CHIEFS REPORT:
There were five calls for June:
- 6/4/13 - Wire Burning – 1668 State Route 9
- 6/5/13 – Wire Down across roadway – 245 Pleasantvale Rd.
- 6/13/13 – Transformer/Tree on fire – Unfounded, 677 Woods Road
- 6/13/13 – Wires arching in tree – Jug Road/State Route 9G
- 6/28/13 – AAPI – 2417 State Route 9
There was no monthly drill.
The Chief reported the following:
- The hose tests will be done on July 30th.
- The cascade system has been ordered and should be delivered in a week or two. It will be located at Station #1.
- Truck #604 has been repaired and there are no leaks. VRS said that most of the problems were caused by stress on the seams rather than rust.
- NYS Association of Fire Chiefs regarding partnering with AFLAC with an accident indemnity advantage plan which pays cash benefits to the policyholder.
- Access Health Systems is a service that does OSHA compliant physicals. They will come directly to the firehouse to do them or can be done at the hospital.
- The Chief will work on the Hover Grant and request six nozzles which cost about $900 to $1000 each.
- There was discussion about changing the locks on doors of the stations. The Chief will also make up a new sheet for the use of fuel.
A motion was made to accept the Chiefs report by Commissioner Harned, seconded by Commissioner Saulpaugh. All in favor. So carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Saulpaugh, seconded by Commissioner Harned to pay the bills as presented. All in favor. So carried.
Bob Desmond commended the Commissioners for following through with pursuing the individuals responsible for the thefts.
A motion was made to adjourn at 8:00 P.M. by Commissioner Harned, seconded by Commissioner Saulpaugh. All in favor. So carried.
