CLERMONT TOWN BOARD
PUBLIC HEARING
NOVEMBER 4, 2013
The Clermont Town Board held a public hearing on the 2014 Budget at the Town Hall on November 4, 2013 at 6:30 P.M. Those in attendance were Supervisor Raymond Staats, Councilman Edward Kahle, Councilman Robert Desmond, Councilman Evan Hempel and Councilwoman Nancy Moore. There were two other residents present.
Supervisor Staats opened the public hearing on the 2014 Budget. The public notice was read by the Clerk.
The expenditures for 2014 were reduced from $611,881.00 in 2013 to $604,299.00.
The revenues were increased from $424,300 in 2013 to $439,111.
The unexpended fund balance will drop from $83,000 to $60,600.00.
The overall amount to be raised by taxes from $104,581 in 2013 to $104,580 in 2014.
The board granted 3% salary increases to the Highway Superintendent, Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Justices, Building Inspector, Court Clerk and building cleaner. There is no increase for the Assessor, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals or Town Board.
The mortgage tax was increased from $35,000 to $40,000. The Capital Equipment Fund was increased from $30,000 to $35,000.
The total tax rate per thousand will increase to $.48. This is due to overall dollar value in the town.
Supervisor Staats asked if the board had any questions or if there was any public comment. There was none from anyone present.
The public hearing was closed at 6:40 P.M.
