Public Notice:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 1st day of March, 2021, the Town Board of the Town of Clermont, County of Columbia, New York, duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Article 7 of the Town Law of the State of New York:

Said resolution authorizes the Town Supervisor to execute a Quit Claim Deed returning certain portions of unused land that were taken in connection with a right of way project in 1949 to the current owner, Christopher Nolan, the Town Board having found and resolved that the subject portion of land is excess and unused land that can be abandoned and revert back to the landowner subject to said Landowner paying for all surveying, legal and filing costs relative to same.

A copy of the resolution is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the Town Clerk located at the Clermont Town Hall, 1795 Route 9, Town of Clermont, County of Columbia and State of New York

February 24, 2021 ZBA Board Meeting

The monthly meeting for the Clermont ZBA is scheduled for this Wednesday, February 24, 2021 to be held at 7:30pm.

This meeting will include a Public Hearing for a Special Use Permit being applied for by Marissa Rendon for the installation of a solar panel array to be located at 23 Maisello Road, Tax ID #201.-1-33.

February 10, 2021 Planning Board Meeting

The Clermont Planning Board meeting is planned for Wednesday, February 10 @ 7:30pm.

This meeting will not include the continuation of the Public Hearing for Billy Cole and the self storage units on Rt  9H. The Public Hearing for this project will resume at the March 10, 2021 meeting. 

The Public Hearing for the property of Marissa Rendon, 23 Maisello Road, Tax ID #201.-1-33 which was scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2021, will instead be held March 10, 2021.

Additional information regarding Clermont Town Hall closure.

The Planning and Zoning board meetings for January 2021 will be cancelled. February meetings will be determined later pending on the Town Hall reopening.

Tax payments: Those who wish to do so, may drop their tax payments into the drop box located on the outside of the court door. This door is just to the right of the Town Hall main entrance. Please do not leave any cash. For any additional questions, please contact the Tax Collector, Joan Buser.

Due to the Corona virus and health concerns of the staff, the Clermont Town Hall is closed to the public until further notice. Please leave a message for the Town clerk at 518-537-6868 for assistance and/or scheduling if necessary.

Veterans Day Memorial celebration.

The American Legion Post will do the Veterans Day Memorial celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 starting at 10:00 AM in Livingston, 10:30 in Clermont and 11:00 in Germantown.

If possible, join us at the Hettling Park at the Veterans Memorial at 10:30 AM and pass the word.

The celebration will end at the Lasher Memorial Park at the Anchorage in Germantown (on the River).

NEW ONLINE TOOL TO HELP OLDER NEW YORKERS AND OTHER HIGH-RISK INDIVIDUALS PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM COVID-19

NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF NEW ONLINE TOOL TO HELP OLDER NEW YORKERS AND OTHER HIGH-RISK INDIVIDUALS PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM COVID-19

The New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA), in partnership with BellAge, Inc., and the Association on Aging in New York (AgingNY) has announced the launch of CV19 CheckUp in New York State, a free, anonymous, personalized online tool that evaluates an individual’s risks associated with COVID-19 based on their life situation and individual behavior and provides recommendations and resources to reduce those risks.

Based on an individual’s behavior, the COVID-19 tool provides an analysis of the likelihood to contract, spread, be hospitalized and die from the virus.

It includes a mental health assessment to gauge depression and outcomes as a result of loneliness. The tool links people to local services should they have a need, i.e.) food, testing, paying bills, etc.

As the holidays approach and more indoor activities occur, it is important that older individuals with chronic conditions take this test to protect themselves. It is equally important that young individuals, who are often asymptomatic, take this test to help prevent them from becoming super spreaders. Information is power and understanding how we live and how our day to day routines impact the chances of getting and spreading the virus is critical.

The tool is FREE, anonymous and analyzes behavior, using scientific data that is being updated weekly. It only takes five minutes to complete and can be taken as many times as one wishes.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Clermont Fire District public hearing on the Preliminary Budget

PUBLIC NOTICE

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the Clermont Fire Commissioners of the Clermont Fire District will hold a public hearing on the Preliminary Budget of the Fire District for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2021.

    The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 6:30 P.M. at the Town Hall, 1795 Route 9, Clermont. At the public hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against any item or items therein contained. Copies of the preliminary budget may be picked up at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours. 

    Please note that the regular meeting of the Fire Commissioners will be held immediately following the public hearing.
