Town Board Meeting
November 7th, 2022

The Clermont Town Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday November 7th, 2022 at the Town Hall. Those presents were Councilman Robert Desmond, Councilman Kris Gildersleeve, Councilwoman Dawn Brownson and Councilwoman Lindsey Lusher Shute. Supervisor Staats was absent due to illness.

  1. Call Meeting to Order @7PM by Councilman Desmond with the Pledge of Allegiance.
    • Moment of Silence observed for former town videographer Fred Cartier
    • Presentation of Flag to commemorate Veterans Day by Lauren Williams Commander of Jennings Willets American Legion Post 346. American Legion unable to have ceremony in Clermont however the local boy scouts are expected to Raise the Flag. Councilwoman Lusher Shute will be in attendance for the town.
  2. Approval of prior Town Board Meeting Minutes-
    • Approval of October Minutes, Motion to accept by Councilman Gildersleeve, Seconded by Councilwoman Lusher Shute. All in Favor So Carried

    • Reminder to Town Board Association of Towns Conference in February
    • Solid Waste news-Eliminating $1 tags for Garbage disposal
    • KISS-Keeping Identities of Seniors Safe-Shredding bin will be available during regular business hours at Town Hall 11/28/22 through 12/9/22

  1. Committee Reports and Updates
    • Bob-Report on Highway department-
    • Lindsey
      • Estimate for fall clean up $2493.75-Discussion regarding selection process etc. Motion made to accept estimate by Councilwoman Brownson, Seconded by Councilwoman Lusher Shute. All in favor.
      • Multiple estimates for groundskeeping for 2023
      • Park Committee would like to present at December Meeting
      • Generous Donor has pledged $5000 for matching donations through December 1st. The committee has raised so far ~ $1000.

    • Mary Howard provided update on progress for Comprehensive Plan-
      • Community Get together Pot Luck Dinner November 17th 7-9 PM at Clermont Firehouse Route 9G
      • Survey has been distributed via mail with QR code
  1. New Business
    • 2023 Budget-Public Hearing completed prior to Board meeting
      • Councilman Desmond read the Budget Highlights-Motion made to accept 2023 budget by Councilman Gildersleeve, Seconded by Councilwoman Lusher Shute. All in favor.
      • Tractor Purchase approximately $113,000. Motion to approve by Councilman Gildersleeve, Seconded by Councilwoman Lusher Shute. All in Favor
      • Surplus of old tractor when new tractor is functional. Motion to approve Councilman Gildersleeve, Seconded by Councilwoman Brownson
  1. Supervisors Report- NONE
    • Village Green will be hosting the election day dinner on Tuesday, November 8th at community house. Ham, Scalloped Potatoes Carrots and Desert 4-7PM.
  1. Motion To Pay Abstracts
    • Motion to pay General abstract #11 Vouchers #268-300 $26,173.43 By Councilman Gildersleeve Seconded by Councilwoman Brownson. All in Favor. So carried.
    • Motion to pay Highway abstract #11 Vouchers #108-115 $7,088.63 By Councilwoman Lusher Shute Seconded by Councilman Gildersleeve. All in Favor. So carried.
    • Motion to pay General Prepaid abstract #11A Vouchers #265-267 $215.49 By Councilwoman Lusher Shute Seconded by Councilwoman Brownson. All in Favor. So carried.
    • Motion to pay Trust & Agency abstract #7 Voucher #18-20 $2,103.48 By Councilwoman Lusher Shute Seconded by Councilman Gildersleeve. All in Favor. So carried.

Public Communication/Comments to Board-

A thank you from town resident Phyllis Heiko to the Town Board for their continued support of the Park Committee. It is the Town Boards responsibility to continue to financially take care of the Park.

Ray Tousey-Read information provided by Livingston Neighbors Assoc regarding Pleasantvale Bridge and the expected schedule for replacement.

Mary Howard has asked for the old Green/Metal very Heavy table be replaced-Provided estimates.

Motion to adjourn at 7:50PM by Councilman Gildersleeve Seconded by Councilwoman Lusher Shute. All in Favor. So carried.
